Ministry hands over solar powered water project

The Water and Environment Ministry has handed over a solar-powered water supply project for Kyamusisi and Kiryokya in Kalangaalo Sub-county. While handing over the project, Ministry Engineer David Bateganya thanked the contractor for the good work done and for completing the project within the agreed time.

He further appreciated the Government of India for its cooperation with the Government of Uganda, noting that the funds for the project were secured through the EXIM Bank of India.

Micro Finance Centre Verifies Emyooga Groups in Mityana District for additional funds.

MITYANA, The Micro Finance Centre, in collaboration with the Mityana District Local Government, has embarked on a verification exercise for Emyooga groups in Mityana district.

The exercise, which kicked on Monday at the district headquarters, aims at validating the existence and operations of Emyooga groups in the district, which are savings and credit cooperatives formed under the Emyooga program a government initiative aimed at promoting economic empowerment and poverty reduction.

The Buganda Region ICOLEW (Integrated Community Learning for Wealth Creation) in Banda Town Council, Mityana District, marked a significant milestone this week with the official commissioning of a five-stance pit latrine and monitoring of ongoing activities at the learning facility.

Minister Nabakooba commissions Mpongo Health center III.

Minister of lands, Housing and urban development Hon Judith Nabakooba Nalule, has commissioned a newly constructed health facility at Mpongo health center III in Bbanda sub county Mityana District.

The facility was constructed under the UGFIT funds and it has coasted over 800 million shillings to serve the community of Bbanda Sub County and the surrounding area of Bbanda Town council.
