Mityana District Launch the District HIV and AIDS Five Year Strategic Plan.

Mityana District has today launched the District HIV and AIDS five year Strategic Plan and the district headquarters.
The Launch was presided over by the the District Vice Chairperson Anniemariam Nassali and she said that its the responsibility of all men and women to know their status.
Nassali cautioned men who refuse to go with their wives for HIV testing and she said that its the responsibility of every person to know his or her HIV status.
Hon Nassali said that this Strategic Plan is going to help the district in curbing HIV/AIDS in the district and asked all stake holders to embress this strategic plan.
Mityana District Chief Administrative Officer Edith Mutabaazi thanked the HIV/AIDS committee for their effort devoted to the development of this five year HIV/AIDS strategic plan 2020/21-2024/25.
The Mityana District HIV/AIDS focal person Dr Peter Muwereza said that The District prevalence rate for HIV is estimated at 6.1% which is higher than the
national that is at 5.8%. Currently, the District positivity rate is estimated at 4% for the general population and that of the pregnant women is at 2% (District HMIS Annual
Report, 2020/21).
