Mityana District Council approves a budget of over 44 billion for the FY 2026/2027

Mityana district Council approved a budget of UGX 44,722,617,139 for the 2026/2027 which comprises of 1,401,219,057 as local revenue and from the central government transfer is 42,110,104,923 and other government transfers shillings 811,233,159 and the donors or NGO transfers of shillings 400,000,000 financial year during a council sitting held today at Mityana district headquarters.

Mityana district local Government has today sworn in new leaders of council who are going to serve for five years in council.

The swearing ceremony took place at the district headquarters garden, and the function was presided over by the Mityana chief Magistrate and the Mityana returning officer Rebero Charles.

Mityana Municipality Hosts Successful Emyooga Mass AGM 20TH NOVEMBER 2025 Mityana Municipality yesterday organised a successfull mass Emyooga AGM for the municipality with the aim of changing leadership and also presenting the audit reports as one way of getting more seed capital. Principal Commerncial officer Mityana Municipality Joseph Ssemakula while addressing sacco leaaders said that members have to buy shares and also members have to be saving for the sacco to grow.

MITYANA, The Micro Finance Centre, in collaboration with the Mityana District Local Government, has embarked on a verification exercise for Emyooga groups in Mityana district.

The exercise, which kicked on Monday at the district headquarters, aims at validating the existence and operations of Emyooga groups in the district, which are savings and credit cooperatives formed under the Emyooga program a government initiative aimed at promoting economic empowerment and poverty reduction.

The Deputy Head of Public Service Jane Kyarisiima Mwesiga has paid a visit to Mityana District local government to enhance supervision, inspection, and monitoring of government projects and programs in the district.
