Minister Nabakooba Launch gives out 50000 coffee seedlings to farmers in Mityana district.

Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, who serves as the Mityana district woman member of parliament Hon Judith Nabakooba Nalule has launched 50000 coffee seedlings to farmers in Mityana district with the aim of adding value to their families and change their lives.

Minister thanked President Museveni for bringing the services near to the people and thanked the people of Mityana for voting them into power so that they can bring the services to the people.

She said that the president wants to see that as leaders they help the people to move from one status to another and want to see them developing.

She urged the farmers to take care of the seedlings they have got so that they can get good yields from them.

She also asked farmers to use the extension workers who are on their sub counties on the methods how they can take good care of the seedlings so that they can benefit from them.

Asked the leaders to sensitize the people so that they can engage in all activities of farming so that they can benefit.

The coffee seedlings are going to be given to those who are in PDM so that they can add on the money they are give and asked leaders to monitor those farmers to know what they are doing and to see what they have done.

RDC Mukiibi thanked the minister for the pledges she made during the campaigns where she promised to lobby for the people of Mityana so that they can change their lives in dimensions.

RDC Mukiibi said that Minister Nabakooba has managed to give out hoes, tea fertilizer, and now coffee seedlings which he said is a good example as a leader.

He said that all this has been made in social economic transformation where people have got money for PDM and leaders have been trained and farmers have been given the fertilizers and those in coffee also have benefited.

He encouraged people to take the programs as a good example so that they can know what they are going to benefit from.

Asked people to love what they are doing so that the community can benefit so that they can change the lives of the people.

Secretary for production marketing and Natural resources Hon Nampijja Jackie Maria thankjed the minister for the effort she has made to see that the people of Mityana can get coffee seedlings. She urged all those who are going to get the coffee seedlings to plant them and look after them so that they can get good yields from them.

Mityana district Production Officer Mr Sserembe Daniel thanked the minister for supporting the district and he said that the minister started with giving out fertilizers to the tea growers and now she has brought they coffee seedlings which he termed as a sign of loving the district and the people she is representing.

Mr Sseremba added that the 50000 seedlings that have been brought they are going to give them to the farmers who applied to get coffee and they have got the coffee from good nursery beds and expect to get good results from them.
